The Siege of the Sky Kingdom was an attack on Cloudius' Kingdom of the Sky by the dragon Ralnthar. The players summoned to defend the Kingdom built fortifications and repulsed multiple waves of hostile mobs, but the defense crumbled when Ralnthar himself joined the fray. Although Ralnthar was denied access to the Kingdom's treasure, the siege resulted in the destruction of most of the Kingdom.

Prelude
Niall transmitted a message from Cloudius to the residents of Parallel Prime in which he implored them to come to the Kingdom's aid. "A great siege" by Ralnthar the Soul Eater was imminent, and Cloudius asked for players to help move his vast wealth to safety and assist in the kingdom's fortification.[1]
Players gathered in Spawn Town and followed Niall to the Sky Kingdom Rift. King Cloudius greeted them, and they observed the dragon Ralnthar perched on a nearby island. The players then visited Cloudius' castle to begin the process of emergency transportation of his wealth from his vault. Niall suggested that the treasure be deposited in a well inside a cave in Spawn Town (later nicknamed Midas' Well), so players traveled there and threw in the gold (minus a stack of gold Cloudius allotted to each player as payment). Cloudius thanked them and urged them to prepare for the coming battle.[1]
The battle
Players returned to their bases to gather materials for the upcoming fight, including stockpiles of obsidian and stone, food, potions, and other gear. Wealthier players purchased exotic saplings from Red's Shop in the Shopping District, as their large size and rapid growth would make them effective barriers to mobs. Cloudius and other residents of the Sky Kingdom were secured in obsidian and stone barricades. A central command center containing a bed and chests for supplies was constructed within Cloudius' castle, while a bunker was dug underneath the first floor of the castle for emergency retreat. Niall joined the defending force as they prepared for an assault.
The siege began at 10:15 PM EST. Several mobs were sighted spawning on the outer edge of the central island. The invading force consisted of large waves of zombies, with skeletons and creepers interspersed among them. Orange phantom-like creatures later identified as Ralnthar Minions joined the fray, dropping Dragon Membranes. Wisps were then observed among the attackers, followed by the first appearance of Fire Wisps.
Apparently as a response to the death of his minions, Ralnthar roared, "IGNORANT ANTS! YOU DARE ASSAULT MY BROOD?!" and launched an explosive fireball attack that tore through the player-made defenses and struck directly into the makeshift command center. Several players were killed and the bed destroyed, forcing the respawned players to trek back from Parallel Prime. Attempts were made to rebuild the makeshift bunker, with a focus on placing a bed and protecting Cloudius from Ralnthar.[1]
Niall threatened the dragon with more minions' deaths unless Ralnthar retreated, but Ralnthar mocked the defenders. However, Ralnthar discovered that the King's vault was empty and declared, "IF I CANNOT HAVE YOUR GOLD... THEN I WILL HAVE YOUR SOULS." In a final flourish of fire and fury, the dragon unleashed a multitude of explosive fireballs and caused what appears to be a server shutdown, kicking all players from the server. Attempting to rejoin the server displayed the message "YOUR WORLD BURNS, MORTAL."[1]
Aftermath
When the server reopened minutes later, the Sky Kingdom was in ruins. Most of the player-made fortifications were completely fractured, and the smoldering remains of the central island made traversal difficult. Cloudius was noted to be missing from the bunker, but he reappeared with his garments in tatters.
Cloudius made rebuilding the Kingdom his first priority. Niall questioned how supplies could be transported from Parallel Prime through such a small rift, and Cloudius ordered him to expand it. Niall replied that he couldn't possibly develop the technology to do that in time, but Jess appeared and asserted that she could, as she was the one who had created the rift in the first place.[1]
The playerbase recommended that Jess seek out Red's expertise on interdimensional travel. Cloudius told the players to find Red. When Niall, Jess, and the players arrived at his stall in the Shopping District, Red told them that the wreckage on Parallel Prime would not contain the technology Jess required. However, in exchange for the purchase of his wares with Riftcoin, he would provide the coordinates of a Space Station — a place he had promised not to return to empty-handed.[1]
Niall appeared intrigued by the Soul Shards and Unstable Soul Shards dropped by the Wisps and Fire Wisps, respectively, and mentioned that he might want to procure some in the future. He and Jess met at his lab in the Spawn Town observatory, which she deemed "quaint" but potentially sufficient.[1]
